REID JAMIESON BAND
“Gorgeous, sun-struck acoustic soul” – Globe & Mail
“Prepare to be surprised” – Vancouver Province
“After Reid appeared on the Vinyl Cafe we received tremendous feedback from our audience. He stole the show…He blew me away.” Stuart McLean – CBC Vinyl Café
Vancouver’s Reid Jamieson Band is a vocal powerhouse committed to making music that moves us. Known for his regular appearances on CBC’s Vinyl Cafe with Stuart McLean, to recording with Cowboy Junkies. A classic introvert/extrovert combo, Reid now performs with his saucy wife and long-time song-writing partner Carolyn Victoria Mill (aka Carly Jamieson), they are a little Johnny and June meet Fleetwood Mac, and all about the songs. Along with winning the John Lennon Songwriting Contest, this creative couple wrote their way into the Vancouver Folk Music Festival by winning 1st prize in the Pickin’ a Folk Star Contest. True entertainers, they thrive on creating intimacy with tales and talents that simply must be experienced live. Their catalog and repertoire have a wide ranging appeal with compelling originals plus unique interpretations, including ‘Dear Leonard: The Cohen Collection’ a luminous tribute to Leonard Cohen, Reid’s much-loved ‘The Presley Sessions Revisited’ is a tribute to the 50s era greats including Elvis, Orbison, The Platters and more. And a perennial favourite, his unusual collection of winter-themed music ‘Songs For A Winter’s Night’ – a unique holiday record you will want to play long after the tree comes down. Spring 2019 Reid and CVM have just released a new all original album recorded in Ireland with producer Kieran Kennedy (Maria Doyle Kennedy). There is nothing traditional about this record, or this dynamic duo, you won’t want to miss what they do next – The Pigeon and The Dove is a folk opera fundraiser for youth aging out of foster care.
